Character Thumbnails

Well, at last another update! Things have been real busy for me lately, working on alot of cool freelance projects at the moment, ranging from children's book illustrations to concept work on iphone & xbox Live games. :)

On top of this, I got a complementary spot on one of the FuturePoly Masterclasses (thanx CGTextures!), a concept design course given by the fine folks behind GuildWars.

Above a bunch of silhouet thumbnails I did on the train to work, done for this week's assignment. Sketches are around 2 to 5 minutes each, done with pen and a felttip marker. Let me know which thumbnail I should work out further! :) -Edwin

I've never done a whole bunch of silhouettes like this. It looks like a lot of fun.

1-20 & 50-56 look interesting, once you've fleshed them out and detailed them I'll bet they're some kind of awesome.

My god Edwin!!
Is insane the amont of energy and ideas you have! ^^

I like all of them, but if I have to chose, I would say the 2nd and the last one from the creatures sheet, and specially the 26 from the humans but also the 36 and 51.

Keep posting your drawings, they are very inspiring! =)

I am speechless. This is a fantastic blog and very engaging too. Excellent work! That's not really much coming from an amateur publisher like me, but it's all I could say after reading your posts. Great grammar and vocabulary. Unlike other blogs. You really know what you're talking about too. So much that you made me want to learn more. Your blog has become a stepping stone for me, my friend. Thanks for the detailed journey.

Oh cool! I can't choose.. like so many of them! But from the first batch I'd say: 8, 15 or 22. From the second: 6, 14, 16, 25, 50, 61 or 80 :) Looks like so much fun to create!

I really like 7 and 14 because you can just get that sense of what their like by their looks and posture. Aside from that I just plain like 18, 20 from the creatures, and from the humans; 1, 11, 24 and 54. Probably a bit late, but just in case...
