Yellow Brick Road

Here's a painting I did this weekend, my take on the wonderful tale of L. Frank Baum: The Wizard of Oz.

Quite a while ago I re-imagined some of the characters from this tale, I thought I might tackle the world itself aswell. Feedback much appreciated, thanx!

Gorgeous! I love every little bit about the background (specifically the brilliance and presence of the Emerald City; and the swirling clouds). Is there a reason that the characters are less detailed?

I love the re design of Toto!
Is your art available to be bought? I'm buying my own flat early next year and am looking for unique pieces :)
Thanks!

Nah, just kidding mr. Rhemrev! You are a true inspiration!

You have a really nice balance of color and texture, as is common amongst most of your works.

Personally, I do not like the clouds. The shape is a little too bulbous or something and the color too solid and un-cloudlike.

Also, I am personally not all that interested in Toto. For me, since he is in the foreground and featuring some of the only stark red in the image, he falls as a disappointment as the centerpiece.

Otherwise, beautiful technique. Love the shadow work and the detailed texture on the stone and the trees and how they contrast. The lighting is spectacular and I love the depth of colors used.
